Privacy Policy
Your files should stay yours. This policy explains our local-first approach and the limited information used to operate and improve Notaman.
Last updated: October 14, 2026
1. The short version
All current Notaman tools process their inputs—including text, images, PDFs, and other files—locally in your browser. We do not upload those files to a Notaman server, and we do not keep copies of them.
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the website performs and how visitors move through it. These services receive website usage and device information, but they are not used to receive the files or text you process inside our tools.
2. Information you process with our tools
When you choose a file or enter content into a Notaman tool, the work is performed on your device using browser technology. Your tool content is not sent to us for processing, stored in a Notaman database, or retained after you close the page.
Because processing happens locally, we cannot view, recover, or restore your files. Please keep your own backup of anything important and review the output before replacing an original file.
3. Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and security infrastructure may receive routine technical information when your browser requests a page. This can include your IP address, request time, requested URL, browser type, device information, referring page, and basic error or security logs.
We use this information to deliver the site, maintain security, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse. It is not combined with the contents of files you process in our tools.
4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand general usage patterns, such as page views, sessions, approximate geographic region, browser and device type, and how visitors arrive at and navigate the site. We have configured the tag to disable Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals.
Google Analytics may use first-party cookies such as _ga to distinguish users and sessions. Your browser also sends information such as the page URL and IP address to Google when the tag loads. You can learn more in Google's explanation of data from partner sites.
5. Microsoft Clarity
We use Microsoft Clarity to see aggregated heatmaps and session-level interaction patterns that help us find confusing layouts, broken interfaces, and performance issues. Clarity can collect clicks, scrolling, mouse movement, window size, page visibility, navigation, device details, diagnostic events, and information needed to replay how a page was used.
Microsoft states that privacy-sensitive input fields are masked rather than recorded as readable text. We do not intentionally send the content of files processed by our tools to Clarity. More information is available in Microsoft's Clarity data collection documentation.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Analytics providers may place or read cookies and similar identifiers to measure visits and connect activity across pages or sessions. These are separate from local browser processing performed by Notaman tools.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics scripts or cookies may reduce the accuracy of our statistics but should not prevent you from using the core website. Google also offers a browser add-on for opting out of Google Analytics.
7. Contact messages
When you submit our contact form, we receive the name, email address, message, and any other information you voluntarily include. The form sends this information through our server to a private Discord channel so we can review and respond to your request. The secret connection used for this delivery is kept on the server and is not included in the website code sent to your browser.
We use contact information only to answer your request, handle feedback, investigate a reported problem, or protect the service. Discord processes and stores these messages under its own terms and privacy policy. Please do not include passwords, financial details, medical information, or confidential files in a support message.
8. How we use information
- Provide, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website.
- Understand which pages and tools are useful.
- Improve navigation, accessibility, speed, and reliability.
- Respond to support requests and product suggestions.
- Meet legal obligations and protect our rights and users.
9. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell the contents of your files because we never receive them. We may share limited website and communication data with vendors that help us provide hosting, security, analytics, and support services. Google and Microsoft process analytics data, and Discord processes contact messages, under their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, prevent fraud or abuse, or protect the safety and rights of Notaman, our users, or others.
10. Retention and security
Notaman does not retain the files or text processed locally in your browser. Technical logs, analytics records, and contact messages may be retained for as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, measurement, support, and legal obligations. Provider retention is also governed by our account settings and their policies.
We use reasonable safeguards, but no website, browser, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Keep your browser updated and avoid processing sensitive material on a device you do not trust.
11. International processing
Google, Microsoft, Discord, and hosting providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their privacy policies describe the safeguards they use for international transfers.
12. Children's privacy
Notaman is a general-audience productivity website and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
13. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. You can also clear cookies, use browser privacy controls, block analytics scripts, or stop using the site.
To ask a privacy question or make a request, use our contact page. We may need enough information to understand and verify your request, but we will not ask for more than reasonably necessary.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our tools, providers, or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the date at the top of the page. Material changes may also be highlighted elsewhere on the site.
15. Contact
Questions about privacy or this policy can be sent through our contact page.
